The Super8 Pillars: A Holistic Framework to Your Superstate

Superstate is more than a name we came up with—it’s the name of a lifestyle, a state in which we live as the best version of ourselves.

We call this state Superstate. It’s about those days when everything just clicks. You have lots of energy, you’re productive, you eat what you planned, you smile easily—in short, everything feels pretty super.

But how do you achieve Superstate—without filling your entire day with activities and biohacks to reach this state?

That’s where Super8 comes in.

After decades of focusing on health optimization and our own search for Superstate, we—Atle and Steinar—developed the Super8 framework: a holistic toolbox that helps us create balance, grow, and realize our full potential.

As the name suggests, Super8 consists of eight fundamental areas that together form a complete roadmap for holistic well-being.


The Eight Areas of Super8

Eat

Give your body optimal nutrition

Make conscious food choices that nourish your body, support your energy levels, and promote long-term health. This includes balanced meals, fasting, adequate hydration, and understanding how nutrition affects your overall well-being.

Move

Stay active and strong

Incorporate regular physical activity into your daily life. Whether it’s strength training, cardio, walking, stretching, dancing, or play, it’s about keeping your body moving and staying strong, flexible, and energetic.

Sleep

Sleep well and let your body recover

Prioritize good sleep quality so your body and mind can recover, recharge, and function optimally for a new day. Good sleep habits are crucial for mood, cognition, and general health.

Feel

Strengthen mood and emotional well-being

Our emotional state has a significant impact on our health, but how much time do we devote to it? This component focuses on strengthening your emotional muscle. This includes stress management, gratitude practices, building healthy relationships, and finding joy in everyday life.

Think

Sharpen the mind and memory

Taking care of our brain is key. This can include learning new skills, solving puzzles, reading, practicing mindfulness, or more biohacking-related activities like neurofeedback.

Focus

Maximize productivity and concentration

Being focused is useful in many ways. One benefit is getting more done, but another is supporting your emotional well-being by boosting your self-esteem (“Wow, look at everything I accomplished today!”). Activities here can include time management techniques like the Pomodoro method, minimizing distractions, and creating routines that support deep work / flow state.

Thrive

Age well, live fully, and build connections

Adopting habits that promote longevity, vitality, and a sense of purpose. This pillar is about embracing life’s journey, staying curious, and investing in activities that bring meaning and joy. In addition, it emphasizes the importance of building and maintaining strong relationships, being part of a community, and experiencing a sense of belonging—because human connections are essential for both happiness and long-term quality of life.

Space

Create a healthy environment

Design both your physical and digital surroundings to support your well-being. This includes lighting, clean air, and other elements that help create spaces that inspire calm, creativity, and belonging.

Why a Holistic Approach?

Traditional wellness advice often isolates problems and solutions—eat better, exercise more, sleep longer. But research and lived experience show that everything is deeply interconnected. Poor sleep affects mood and productivity; chronic stress impacts nutrition and movement; your environment shapes your habits and health outcomes. Super8 is designed to help you clarify these areas—and make improvements where needed. 

Instead of chasing isolated goals, you build a foundation for sustainable well-being—your Superstate—that adapts and grows with you.

How We Put Super8 Into Action

A framework is of little use if it’s not applied, so to help you achieve your Superstate, we do the following:

 

  • We categorize the products on Superstate.eu into the eight Super8 areas so you can easily find products for the areas you want to optimize.

  • We share tips and our own experiences on social media and in newsletters within the Super8 areas. So make sure you follow us on Instagram and sign up for our newsletter.

  • We’re also working on new solutions to help you live your Superstate to the fullest (more to come).
